1972 Dolphins DT-Bob Heinz probably didn’t realize the significance of his jersey number until after the Miami Dolphins won Super Bowl VII. Number 72 turns 63 on July 25th and was a member of both the 1972 and 1973 championship teams. Drafted in 1969 in the second round by the Dolphins, Heinz played eight seasons on the Miami Dolphins roster. Standing at 6’6″ and weighing in at 265 lbs., he was quite an imposing presence in that era of the NFL. Heinz truly represents the spirit of the “No Name Defense”, in that not many know who he is, but his jersey number is arguably the most recognizable of the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
